Age Range: 2 years old
The toddler program is for children between two and three years old as well as for older ones who are in the process of learning to toilet independently. Children learn to care for themselves and their environment and gain independence in doing so. Playful explorations of the arts and natural materials are a focus in this age range and mathematical and literacy foundations are established throughout the year. Toddlers who go through this program will transfer directly into one of our two primary classrooms the following school year.
Class of 12 - Age Range: 2.5 - 5 years old
Class of 20 - Age Range: 3 - 5 years old
The primary program serves children who are between 2.5 and 5 years old in a mixed-age Montessori classroom. With the guidance of their teachers and through interacting with Montessori materials children learn to care for themselves, others, and the environment while developing fine and gross motor abilities, social skills and emotional awareness. Students playfully discover the foundations of academic knowledge such as literacy, math, science and cultural studies as well as creatively explore fine arts, music, dance, drama, yoga, making and tinkering, etc. We believe that the arts and creative expression are as equally important as academic learning and our curriculum is designed with this balance in mind.
Age Range: 2 - 5 years old
The extended care program gives children time to play freely and choose between a multitude of materials such as dramatic play items, blocks and art materials. If they choose they may use the time to work on any of their Montessori projects. Afternoon care kids will spend time in our outdoor play area or may have the opportunity to visit the local park (if pick-up schedules permit).
Drop-in Morning Care or After School Care: Availability not guaranteed. Parents are asked to confirm in advance that there is space before dropping off early or picking up late.
In a Montessori classroom, consistency is key. It is ideal that children come five days per week, and not break up the week with a part time program. Because of this we are hoping to enroll full time students only. If the need for part-time is great, and you would like a two or three day enrollment, you can indicate that on your application and we will accommodate if possible.
Information about the Summer 2018 program will be shared after the school year begins. Our summer program will be fun and joyful experience for the children and designed with the needs of working families in mind.
We are an equal opportunity childcare provider.
Please note that all ages listed are based on the age of the child on the first day of school. We aim for a one to six, teacher to child ratio during active time. Ratios are approximate and will vary depending on the age of the children in the group, the time of day and the number of classroom aides present.
